“MY FRIENDS CALL ME…” TREND: Creators are sharing the various names and nicknames that people in their lives call them – or also the people that are in their lives in a parasocial way – in videos like this. The trend provides an endearing way to connect with an existing or new audience, and would work particularly well for a candidate. To make it happen, use this audio and this text-on-video format.

“THAT WAS RUDE” AUDIO: This audio is being used in two ways. The first is to share a moment where someone was genuinely rude or did something heinous. The second way is to highlight something you’ve done yourself that should’ve “worked” and didn’t because of something “you did.” Either route could be used politically, although the first certainly is more seamless and requires less effort. For route one, create a lipsync video to the audio and add details on a situation where someone was rude/heinous via image sticker or text added directly to the video. For route two, take this video as an example to follow.

“THE FRONT STUNNING..” AUDIO: This audio is made for outfit checks. It’s easy breezy beautiful and can be used to show an outfit with meaning for a political event, as well as for a campaign team showing off merch/campaign swag.

“FIBBER!!” AUDIO: This Judge Judy audio where she calls someone out for being a fibber and explains that that means they’re a liar is going viral. It’s being used in some cases just for fun, and in others to call out a situation or a someone where a lie has been told. In the political use case, there’s a never ending list of lies to call out. To make it happen, lipsync the first 5.3 seconds of the audio, then use text-on-video or an image sticker to share what the lie is that you’re calling out. The caption can be used to expand on the situation.

“CAN I BE PETTY” AUDIO: The first segment of this Don Lemon audio can be used to highlight something you’re dropping tea on or being petty about. To note, petty has a really broad definition these days, so apply as you see fit. This is another lipsync trend – use that as the base for the video and then add via text-to-video details on the/a situation that deserves a mic-drop, tea spill, petty moment to shine.

“WORKPLACE” AUDIO: This audio embodies the corporate experience of talking in circles about the things that are happening in the world. It also connects to the small talk vibes of the political space – something we pointed out in this video. In terms of application, it can also be used to share a variety of happenings in the political world that are face-palm worthy. To make it happen…

  • Lipsync the first portion of the audio.

  • Layer 3-4 image stickers of situations happening in the news, adding them at different duration points of the video so that by the end, they cover the whole screen/video.

Creative content concepts to try

“YOU’RE ALREADY TEXTING THE GROUPCHAT…” TREND: This trend puts a spotlight on the phenomena where people learn tea and tell their besties right away. The trend defends the behavior in a sarcastic humor way. It can be used politically to showcase bestie pairs in a caucus or bestie dynamics in an org’s office. To make it happen, use this audio.

“THERE SHE GOES” AUDIO 2.0: This remix of ‘there she goes’ can be used over b-roll of a politico getting shit done. It can apply to really any type of political role and should also highlight what they’re getting done. The “what they’re getting done” portion can be added in the caption or with a sticker image added to the video.

CAPCUT TEMPLATES

Meme it

  • Use this template to highlight an elected, appointed, or nominated person in politics that should consider doing another job – like literally any other job/career path.

  • Use this template to share a bit of political news that has shock value [ex: an elected retiring that you campaign against].

  • Use this template to highlight picking between a good political choice and a bad one, and the attitude you have toward the practice of making a very obvious choice.

  • Use this template to share a written methodology for responding to MAGA policy [ex: a lawsuit and you’re typing up the documents].

  • Use this template to highlight a situation where you weren’t sure what was going to happen next at first, and then BAM realization was made.
