Give these a whirl

“HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE MELTDOWN” AUDIO: This creator went out on a creative limb and remixed a Christmas classic with the concept of having a meltdown, resulting in this new iconic audio. This audio can be used non-ironically to spotlight an opposition party that’s having themselves a meltdown or a fit over not getting something they want. The recipe: use new stories that are highlighting the menty b of said opposition person, screenshot ‘em, make them fit to a carousel-style photo post, and add the audio.

“HOW MANY FUCKS DO I GIVE? ZERO!” AUDIO: Lisa Rinna is forever a legend and this audio of hers is in fact legendary. She created a catchy little bop sharing that she gives zero fucks. Use the audio [orgs, not electeds/candidates, plz] to create a video that pushes back on hate comments or DMS. Use it in conjunction with making an example of a troll, like this creator did here.

“2024 ERAS” TREND: Not so surprisingly, the Eras tour is influencing end of year recaps. Like seen with the creator’s video, the concept is to recap “eras” that happened throughout this year – which tbh, there have been A LOT…like did anyone else forget the Olympics were this year?! Anyways, to participate in the trend, gather 6-8 images that represent different eras from the year. Name those eras [political puns welcome] and add them to each image directly. Then cap it off with this audio or a Taylor Swift song – your choice.

“WHAT AN ODD THING TO SAY” AUDIO: This audio can be used to highlight a weird reaction to a normal behavior, situation, or state of being, as shown by this creator’s video. The formula is:

  • “The gardeners have planted white roses when I specifically asked for red” | the normal behavior, situation, or state of being

  • “You could always paint the roses red” | the weird reaction that’s typically given or given at all

  • “What an odd thing to say | nothing needed here!

we don’t name these audios, don’t come for us, LOL!

CAPCUT TEMPlATES

Give ‘em a whirl

  • Use this template to show two besties in a legislative minority trying to get through a specific insane situation involving the opposing party. Add text that shares what that insane situation is.

  • Use this template to highlight a situation the opposing party is panicking about i.e. having a childish meltdown about.

  • Use this template to share a scenario where MESS is happening i.e. political drama and you’re watching it unfold. Share what that situation is via text and the caption.

  • Use this template to highlight a budget that should be higher to fund a particular policy or legislative action.

Creative content concepts to try

“DRAWER REVEAL” TREND: Whether it’s a bill, a candidacy announcement, or something else, using the tools [an empty drawer and printer paper] around you to create a video like this is a clean, easy way to draw fresh eyes. Type of the announcement you have in mind in the most concise way [this can be a CTA instead], print, and plop it in the drawer. Then, from an overhead angle, film a member of the team opening the drawer to reveal the message. You can use this audio or another that fits your vibe. Further details can also then be added in the caption.

“CAMERA ROLL RECAP” TREND: It’s recap szn, and this variation of the trend is another fun way to put a spotlight on big moments. With this trend it’s a spotlight on one memory from each month, and is started with a text-based slide. The slide can easily be made via IG Story and downloaded for use OR can be made in Canva using the Instagram Story blank template. To flow into the trend, use this audio for the background.

“IT’S BECAUSE…” TREND: In this trend, creators are highlighting an accomplishment they’ve achieved and then all of the ridiculous reasons handed to them for their success – “ex: you only got the job because you’re a woman.” It’s kind of similar to one of this week’s TikTok trends, but instead it uses this audio for the base. The formula for the text is one accomplishment followed by two staggered responses to the accomplishment.

“HIT THE ROAD JACK” AUDIO: This is an absolutely classic song and we’d love to see it used by a newly elected representative who beat an incumbent or flipped a seat – literally making “hit the road, Jack” a reality. The video itself could take many forms, but in  particular we see  a video where the new elect is waving goodbye to their opponent’s campaign signs or office gear.
